Quick update as I take a break from writing my Lauder thesis: I'm graduating this May! I'll then spend 2 months in INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France - an hour from Paris), and then off to Asia. More details later.

Back in Philly

After a summer in Cuba, HK, and China, I'm back in Philly!

School's started. 2nd year is tough - a lot more demanding than I thought it would be. I spend all my free time unwinding until the next wave of responsibilities. It's never ending!

Ok, here's a quick quick quick update. I'll be going to Cuba for a study trip from May 12-25th (via Miami). Then back to Philly on the 25th & to HK on the 26th (arrive 27th). I'll be working for my summer internship until the beginning of Aug.

If anyone's around in HK, look me up!

Friends Don't Let Friends Join the WGA

Now that recruiting season has come and gone, we can relax... kind of. School & other activities have taken over, and I'm catching up with all the schoolwork that I ignored. At least I'll be in China for the summer - yee-haw!

For some insane reason, my class ('09) has decided to go over the top with school elections (anyone remember ASB?). People are going crazy with campaigning, creating videos, spamming every email list possible. Even the 2nd years are saying this is over the top.

This in turn led me to the following chat:

Les Entrevues

So interview season starts. It's amazing how fast the process is. All of the "dating game" with companies is starting to bear fruit, and all of us are running around all nervous and excited.

Hopefully I'll have a summer job a month from now. Only about 30-40% have a job after the interview period, and the rest wander aimlessly until they locate a job. Yay.

Oi, gente - tudo bem?

This place has yet again been neglected. On the other hand, I've also been skirting responsibilities such as paying my school bills and preparing for interviews. The 6 days of straight partying on a beach in the south of Brazil hasn't helped. To be fair, I did do a little studying.

My 2nd trip to Brazil has been a blast. The last few days of madness were a stark contrast to the relaxed sightseeing of Rio, and the next few days back in São Paulo should be pretty relaxing. And on the 5th, I get to go to a Brazilian wedding!

A few observations:

-Everyone uses Google's Orkut social networking site down here. While I was waiting for the internet, about most of the people were checking out their party pictures and writing messages. Facebook is gonna need to do a lot more if they want to expand to Brazil

-The secret ingredient in my longtime favorite fruit drink of Guarana is actually... caffine! After years of avoiding coffee to stop getting the jitters, I have yet again fallen in love with it in another form. And I just thought the stuff made me feel great because it was so healthy.

-There's this awesome fruit pudding thing called açai that is high in calories but delicious. Eating this stuff is a happy time.

-Partying in Brazil is madness. Everyone subscribes to the "start at 1-2am and party until dawn" schedule of Latinos. My liver is hurting.

Ok, time to go back to my pousada and sleep. Happy new year to y'all!
